Electrical outlets not working?

In my daughter's bedroom suddenly some of the outlets aren't working, others are. I went to the box thing in the garage and reset and flipped everything off then back on again. Still not working. Do I now need to call an electrician? thanks for your help.

The safety of your daughter could be in danger.I would call an electrician right away.Loose connections or wires or recepticals with breaks in them could cause a fire by arcing electricty.If you call the breaker panel a "box thing" I would call a pro and let them handle the problem.I may not be serious at all, but please do not take a chance.

Sounds like a blown fuse, though I don't know how to replace them or determine which one it is, I just know the side effects :P, if you don't have a neighbour or something that can help you out, you'll likely have to call an electrician, though it will be a quick fix.

Look for GFCI outlets in the bathrooms.  They are the ones with a Test and a Reset button on them.  The bedroom outlets could be wired to the output of the GFCI.  Push the Test button in then push the Reset button in and see if it fixes your outlets.

If you are familiar with working with electricity, then you should have no problem. The problem will usually be found with the first outlet not working. Your circuit is fed from your breaker panel to a first recept, then piggy backed to a number of others. Find the one fed from the panel, then it should be easy to find the ones in line causing the problem. Clear as mud??? If not call for help. Your safety is the most important factor.

Don't know if you have lived there a long time to know every detail of the house but I lived in one that the outlets were switched for lamps.Took a while to realize switch on wall turned off outlets.Definitely agree with Stephen above but in addition look at the last in the room that is working for loose wires.
