Electrical problem...?

Question

we've recently moved our computer into the living room. Everytime we turn on the computer or kettle and the TV screen is on, the TV screen goes on and off for about (i think) 5 times and then it comes back on again. Why does this happen and how can i fix it?

I would unplug the PC and see if there is any change - a PC uses so little power I doubt its affecting anything. Try standing on one leg and rubbing your head,
