Electricity down my spine at will?

Question

I can make an electric flow go down my spine at will. It starts at the back of my head, goes down my spine, extends to the arms making my arm hair go up (goosepimples). It keeps going down my spine to my legs where i also get goosepimples. It happens for a brief amount of time while I'm thinking on an image of high power like energy flowing, sources of strong light or so.

Can someone tell me what is that?

Medical, religious or any other category will be very much appreciated

This happens to me often, usually in the presence of energy either of a spiritual or a physical nature. I can indeed make it happen at will, but when it happens on its own I can't seem to stop it.

I can't tell you anything scientific about this, but since this is in "Alternative" you should expect that. However, I believe that the sensation is te result of feeling energy near the body, or possibly by directing your own energy.

This is probably a phenomena similar to the one that makes you salivate when you think of something very sour.

It is a neuro-biological phenomena and probably occures more frequently in people with sleep disorders and people who meditate and people who stay still for very long periods of time.

It is not paranormal.

Try an experiment. See if you can cause it to concentrate in one place (not your head!)

Hey Bruce.  I can't tell you scientifically why this phenomenon happens but I know that a lot of people can do it.  It seem to be more prevalent in younger children.  Most everyone can achieve a somewhat similar effect by squeezing the back of their neck.
