Electricity used by filters

does a aqua safe power filter or a whisper power 10 filter use alot of electricity, because im only 14 and i dont want to cause my parents loads of money, since filoters are suppose to run 24/7

I did find Whisper® EX Filtration Systems for home aquariums, and Whisper EX20 and other larger sizes. EX20 is rated at 4 watts, which will cost you about 30 cents per month.

a ten gal fish tank will be pretty cheap to operate. once you buy the tank, filter and fish, they dont cost much money at all. the most expensive thing is the replacement filters. food and water additives are pretty cheap too. your parents wont even notice a change in the power bill.
