Electrocution confirmed as cause of Tom Maynard’s death – Cricket News Update
The British Transport Police have confirmed that Surrey and England http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 batsman Tom Maynard died after he was electrocuted by the live rail on the District Line, prior to being hit by a train on London underground roughly after 5am.
Results from a forensic post mortem carried out by a Home Office pathologist have revealed that the 23-year-old suffered http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Burns-c48842 after being electrocuted, in addition to multiple injuries which were sustained after he was hit by the train.
A formal inquest into the incident was opened and adjourned on June 22 at Westminster Coroner's Court.
The circumstances of the right-hander’s death, however, are puzzling, and due to be investigated later this year. He was stopped by the police for driving erratically around 4:15am on June 18, near the Wimbledon mosque. Maynard fled the scene on foot, and
his whereabouts for up to 45 minutes after the incident have yet to be accounted for. His body was discovered by the police at 5.10am, on the tracks near the Wimbledon Park station.

“Maynard was an incredibly talented young batsman. His future potential was unlimited, with experts both inside and outside the club predicting he would soon follow in the footsteps of his father Matthew by graduating to full http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 honours,” read an official
statement released by the club following the tragic incident.
Maynard’s funeral is due to be held at the Llandaff Cathedral on July 4 at 12pm, and will be followed by a service at Thornhill Crematorium, due to be held at 1.15pm. The event will be followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Pentyrch Rugby Club.
