Question:

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working,...

I have an Electrolux Epic 6500 SR (predecessor of Lux 7000).

The full bag system works properly--it shuts down the vacuum when the bag is full and illuminates the full bag light.

However, when I try to start the vacuum again with a new bag, the full
bag light stays on and the vacuum doesn't reset right away.

If I put a new bag into the machine and press the on/off switch 5 +
times, the full bag light goes out and the vacuum starts running
again. I have had several of these vacuums with the full bag sensors
and I have never run into a problem with the system on any of them before.

Here's the scenario:

1. Vacuuming until the bag is full and the sensor switches off the machine and the full bag light illuminates.

2. Press on/off switch to turn "off" vacuum--Full bag light stays illuminated.

3. Insert new and empty bag.

4. Press on/off switch to turn on vacuum (full bag light is still illuminated).

5. Vacuum does not turn on (full bag light is still illuminated).

6. Press on/off switch 5+ times and the full bag light turns off.

7. Press on/off switch and vacuum turns on.

Anyone have an idea? The Aerus/Electrolux service agent near me simply
tells me that I should invest in a new vacuum cleaner. I know that
there is an alternative solution here.
