Electronic Arts promises to keep supporting Battlefield 3 – Video Games Update
Due to the recent complaints by gamers everywhere regarding the announcement of Battlefield 4 (BF4), Electronic Arts (EA) in hopes of pacifying the fans has stated that it will continue to support its previous game well after the release of BF4.
The reason why gamers are so upset is that EA has announced the sequel too soon as Battlefield 3 came out in October 2011 where as the Beta for BF4 is due in 2013 which means that game might be launched the same year.
Another reason for all the fan hate was the fact that the only way to get access to the beta is to purchase the limited edition of the upcoming Medal of Honor (MOH): Warfighter which will be released this fall. Battlefield fans who don’t care for MOH felt
that EA was trying to use the success of the Battlefield series to push the less popular MOH game.
DICE was quick to respond as stated that there would be other ways to get into the beta later on but right now MOH: Warfighter limited edition pre-order is the only way.
A blog post on the official Battlefield Blog stated, “DICE is continuing its work on Battlefield 3 alongside Battlefield 4. Most importantly, official details regarding Battlefield 4 will always be made available on Battlefield.com and here on the Battlefield
Blog. We expect that the level of interest in Battlefield 4 will lead to a lot of speculation and rumour - don't fall for it!"
DICE has been really efficient with damage control as the developer plans to release another downloadable content (DLC) add-on for Battlefield 3 soon. The official Battlefield Blog had more details about the upcoming ‘Armoured Kill’ DLC which will be launched
in September.
The new DLC will add five new drivable vehicles and add over twenty vehicle specific unlocks. This will surely keep the fan-base happy and busy until the release of the next DLC packs titled ‘Aftermath’ and ‘End Game’ which will probably be released next
year.
Gamers might enjoy the regular DLC for Battlefield 3 but it might have adverse affects on the upcoming MOH: Warfighter as players will be too busy with the Battlefield DLC to check out the upcoming game.
