Electronic Arts reveals its Gamescom titles – Video Games Update
Gamescom, the German video game expo being held in Cologne, is coming up next week and Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it will have a nice selection of playable demos from some of its upcoming games at the event.
The titles that gamers will be able to try out at the event are:
Crysis 3:
The third (fourth if you include Crysis: Warhead) installment in the Crysis series is set to be released sometime in 2013. The game is being developed on the latest version of the CryEngine 3 and boasts some of the best visuals in the industry today. EA
has not revealed if the demo for the game at the expo will only be the single player level already shown in a trailer or will multiplayer be revealed as well.
FIFA 13:
This is set to be the greatest addition in the popular football franchise so far. New additions include Kinect support for the Xbox 360 version and many graphical and online multiplayer related improvements.
EA Sports FIFA Manager 13:
EA has revealed that the main new feature in this installment of the Football manager simulator will be the addition of ‘Team Dynamics Feature’ which will improve game-play when it comes to Player relationships and interactions between players in the game.
EA looking to triumph over Sega’s Football Manager Series with this game, players can judge for themselves at Gamescom.
Medal of Honor (MOH): Warfighter:
The next installment in the MOH series is set to hit the shelves this fall. The game has been developed on the Frostbite 2 engine, which was previously used for Battlefield 3, and looks amazing visually. Will the game be able to stack up against other upcoming
shooters like Halo 4 and Black Ops 2?
Need for Speed (NFS): Most Wanted:
Criterion is behind the drivers’ seat as the developer reboots an old NFS game. The trailers for the game have received positive feedback from gamers and critics. It is likely that Criterion will be showing off the much anticipated multiplayer modes of the
game at Gamescom.
SimCity:
The popular city building and managing simulator by Maxis made a return at this years’ Electronic Entertainment Expo and will be available for the public to test for the first time at Gamescom.
Star Wars: The Old Republic:
Not explanation needed for this title as EA is desperately trying to make it work. Gamers can expect new features that have been added to the MMO since the decision to go free to play.
In addition to these games EA has announced that there will also be ‘press only’ closed doors events at Gamescom where the media people would get to sample many of the titles not available to the public. Gamescom starts on August 15 and will end on August
19, 2012.
