Elena Baltacha avenges her loss against Julia Goerges in 2nd round – Texas Open 2011

British Elena Baltacha hopped back from a set down against German Julia Goerges in the second round of the Texas Open 2011. Fate had given Baltacha a chance to avenge her loss on hard courts of Hilton DFW Lakes in Grapevine, Texas,
which to everyone’s surprise she availed by securing 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(2) victory.
22 year-old Goerges had an excellent serve as she did not set up a single break point situation for her adversary and instead broke her opponent once in the last game of the set to bag the set.
The big hitting Goerges had power played on her serve and won 17 out of 25 points, making it an exceptional win of 68% in the total service points against, the Briton who was unable to play her shots and won only 32% of her total
returns in the set.
Baltacha had bagged a 50% win of her service games, which meant Goerges had managed to win 50% games off her adversary and hence had a total return of 11 out of 22 points.  
In the second set Baltacha had pulled up her socks and came back for vengeance by smashing 2 aces and winning 54% of her total service points against Goerges, who was able to hit a mediocre 46% win in the total return points.
The British not only had a good serve but an average return of 51% win in the total returns that alleviated her overall score and with a sturdy defence she was able to break her opponent 3 out of the 6 times. Eventually she bagged
the set by accomplishing 53% of her total set points.
The players had each bagged a set and now it was a clash of the titans, with Goerges as the big server and the British.
Both the players had similar points but Elena Baltacha satiated her revenge by accomplishing to win consecutive points in the tie breaker and hence bagged the set.
Across the board; Baltacha had taken a notch higher in her serves and won a walloping 72% of her total service points along with, a mediocre return that won her 37% of her total return points, she accomplished to secure a 54% win
of her total set score and hence won the match.
