Juventus winger Eljero Elia’s move to Werder Bremen has hit a snag and is put on hold for the time being.

The Dutch winger joined Juventus from Hamburg for a fee reported to be around 9 million Euros, and signed a four-year contract. The former HSV man failed to make any impact with the Bianconeri. He only managed to make four league
appearances for the Italian giants and fell out of favour with their manager.
Elia’s spell at Juventus was nothing like his time in Northern http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, where he made 47 appearances and scored nine goals.
Considering his 26 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753, the Dutch international has considerable amount of experience at the international stage.
His turbulent times at Juventus continued and he was frozen out from the first team and led him to hand in a transfer request, which was accepted by his club.
Reports started to circulate in the media that Werder Bremen were interested in signing the 25-year old. The reports were not just speculation; Thomas Schaaf was interested in prising the out of favour winger away from the Old
Lady.
Talks of his move to the Bremen club gained momentum and the both clubs agreed on a 5.5 million Euro fee.
Despite reaching an agreement on the transfer fee, the move was put on hold. Elia’s contract with the Italian club was blocking a potential move. For the move to go through, the contract has to be terminated so the Dutchman can
sign a deal with his new club.
"The contract between Juventus and Elia has yet to be terminated. That's why he has not signed with us yet," Bremen Director Klaus is quoted as saying in an interview.
The delay in termination of the contract is thought to be due to some amount owed to Juventus by the player.
"It's about a few material things. There's nothing we can do about it to solve this. I don't know whether this is insurmountable," he added.
By making a move for the player, Werder Bremen have showed a lot of faith in him. Now he has to repay the faith by performing well for the River Islanders.
