The Olympique de Marseille coach feels that the defeat at the hands of Les Merlus on Sunday was a bit harsh on the Rhone giants and they were not helped by a number of key decisions that went against them
Les Phoceens crashed to a humiliating defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153 at Stade Velodrome at the weekend and coach, Elie Baup is far from pleased with the result.
Losing 3-0 at home is never a good omen and the 57-year-old knows that the result will affect Marseille to great extent in their quest for the Championelle. While talking to reporters, the French tactician stated that it was not their day and everything
OM tried backfired.
The scoreline indicates that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 didn’t play well at all but the coach feels that it was certainly not the case. Baup said that a number of key decisions went against them and not to mention the funny goal they conceded just after the
interval.
Marseille were undone by a penalty and a red card that reduced the hosts to ten men. Lorient took full advantage of the situation and the boss feels that it just wasn’t their day and nothing can be done about it now.
"When you lose 3-0 at home, you feel that you haven't played well, and that nothing went your way. There was the penalty, the red card, the comedy goal conceded just after the break when we had come out with the idea of getting back on terms.”
Elie Baup added that every time Olympique de Marseille looked dangerous, something went against them and they failed to get a grip of the game.
“We were floored by the second goal. Each time that we've had the chance to progress, we've failed.”
The boss has urged his players to forget the defeat and move on. The need is to perform better in the upcoming matches and avoid more setbacks.
“When we have our backs to the wall, like we do now in our upcoming matches, we have to find the energy and lift ourselves even if we've had good results beforehand."
