The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 coach will accept nothing but all three points when Les Phoceens take on Bastia in the Ligue 1 on Wednesday
After an impressive start to the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign, Marseille have seen a sudden dip in their form. However, coach, Elie Baup is hoping to get back to their best starting from Wednesday’s game against Frederic Hantz’s side.
While talking to reporters at the pre-match press conference, the 57-year-old tactician stated that OM’s recent form is indeed a cause of concern but added that he has full confidence in his players and is remaining upbeat about Marseille’s chances in the
Ligue 1.
Baup said that Les Phoceens are not doing justice to themselves and they have failed to perform well in recent matches, which is an alarming situation. The boss said that the nine-time champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 should have been at the top of the table but they
didn’t take advantage of the situations when they should have.
"Every time we've had the chance to move clear we've failed to do so. Our first opportunity came against Lyon and we had another chance against Lorient after our good result at Brest.”
The boss added that now it is the responsibility of Marseille’s players to perform well, especially away from home, in order to achieve club’s objectives.
“We owe it to ourselves to pick up points away from home. We're slipping back from our objective of averaging two points per match, but that is an elevated objective.”
The Frenchman said that OM need to be more careful in future and the need is to collect positive results in the upcoming games to get the campaign back on track.
“We have to stop having accidents and be more effective, more consistent in our runs of results.”
Talking about the upcoming winter break, Elie Baup said that Marseille need to stay focused in the remaining game before the winter break, and picking maximum points is what the boss wants from his side.
“Until the winter break we have to count on moral and mental values and show a great forced of character.”
