The Marseille coach has urged the players to forget about Wednesday’s defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 and concentrate on the upcoming games in the Ligue 1
Lyon handed Les Phoceens their fourth defeat of the season pushing them down to third in the league. Marseille looked far from best and the visitors took full advantage of that winning 4-1 at Stade Velodrome, largely thanks to Bafetimbi Gomis’ hat-trick.
And OM coach, Elie Baup has expressed disappointment at the result and is looking forward to return to winning ways. While talking to reporters, the 57-year-old stated that it was a night to forget for Marseille and they need to move on as early as possible.
The coach said that Les Phoceens need to do really well in their next Ligue 1 game, when the nine-time champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 take on Stade Brestois 29 on Sunday, and the boss is eying maximum points from that game.
"I think we need to secure a positive result against Brest next.”
Referring to Lyon’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Toulouse at the weekend, Baup said that Marseille can take motivation from that and the need is to show that kind of reaction against Brest on Sunday.
“Lyon lost 3-0 at Toulouse, and they came back here today with a lot of pride and dignity. We need to show that kind of reaction on Sunday.”
The former Saint-Etienne coach said that although Marseille are now third in the league, there isn’t a lot of difference in the amount of points between the top three sides. Marseille need to stay focused and collect as many points as possible before the
winter break.
"Today, our position in the table is one thing but what's important is the amount of points. It's also about how we react; we have to get as many points as possible before the winter break.
Elie Baup added that there is no need to cry over Wednesday’s result and is expecting a positive response from his side on Sunday.
“We have to recover well, and that's the most important thing for me."
