http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 would be looking to make amends when they take on Borussia Monchengladbach in the Europa league at Stade Velodrome this Thursday
The Bundesliga outfit won the previous meeting between the two sides and Marseille coach, Elie Baup, would be hoping for a different kind of result this time around as the Rhone giants prepare to take on Die Fohlen in the reverse fixture of the Europa League.
The Ligue 1 outfit would be hoping to claim all three points on Thursday in order to seal a place in the next round of the competition. However, they are in one of the toughest groups of the Europa league and the coach knows that it won’t be easy to achieve
that feat.
While talking to reporters, the 57-year-old stated that European games are usually tougher than the domestic ones and playing against some of the best European sides is not easy. The coach added that Marseille are in a high quality group and every team in
it is capable of reaching the next round of the competition.
"Every game in this group is pretty tough as the group is a really high quality one.”
Talking about Thursday's game, Baup said that Les Phoceens will go for a win and failure is not an option, especially after the defeat at the hands of same opposition not so long ago.
"The goal before the game is to win; we have to start it with the ambition of winning it and we have to choose a strategy that leads to a win."
The former Saint-Etienne coach added that players are confident and they want to make a mark at this stage. Elie Baup is remaining upbeat about Marseille’s chances of going all the way in the Europa League this season and has urged his players to play without
feat against the Bundesliga outfit on Thursday.
"As a team, we're never pessimistic. We stay confident with one thing in mind, to make up for the mistakes we have made, but this group of players, they are solid and they are confident in what they are doing. This group of players believe in what they do."
