The Ligue 1 leaders bounced back from the Valenciennes defeat with a dominating display against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cyprus-c2881 side at Stade Velodrome, winning the game 5-1 in the end.
Coach, Elie Baup, is pleased with the way players performed on Thursday, and the scoreline has pleased the Frenchman to great extent. The coach said that OM needed to win this game in order to regain confidence ahead of their crunch match against arch-rivals,
Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
While talking to reporters, the 57-year-old said that it was a great victory for the club and hopes that the victory will help players regain confidence ahead of the PSG encounter.
Marseille came from a goal down to beat the visitors, and the coach is pleased with the scoreline. Praising his players, the former Saint-Etienne coach said that scoring five goals in a game is never easy, and Les Phoceens deserve credit for playing such
an aggressive game.
"It's good to score goals; it's never easy to score five goals, even if some think the opposite,"
The 57-year-old added that players needed a win like this following the defeat against Valenciennes last week, and they are feeling much relaxed and calm after the Europa League win.
"And it's good for the mentality because we received a big slap at Valenciennes and we needed a good result tonight. It helps us mentally and scoring goals is also the objective of football," the former Toulouse coach added.
The coach said that the visitors gave Marseille a hard time, and they were really impressive on the pitch.
"It was expected (AEL would be tough to play). The beginning was hard because the opponent's pressing was good.”
