The Rhone giants piled pressure on Paris Saint-Germain and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 with maximum points against Alain Casanova’s side at Stadium Municipal this Saturday. And coach, Elie Baup wants to continue the fine run with another positive result when Marseille
play host to AS Saint-Etienne in their next game of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign.
While talking to reporters at a press conference, the 57-year-old stated that Les Phoceens haven’t performed really well at Stade Velodrome this season which is a cause of concern. However, Marseille’s away form this season has been phenomenal and the boss
wants his side to play with the same intensity and attitude at home in their upcoming match against Les Verts.
"Because we have dropped so many points at home, we are obliged to take points on the road.”
The former Nantes coach said that it is not true that Olympique de Marseille have different approach to away games or home games. The OM boss added that the supporters have been amazing throughout the season and Marseille need to finish the first part of
the season on a high note with a win against Saint-Etienne in the upcoming game for their fans.
“We don't have a different approach to away games or home games. We owed it to our supporters and those who love the club to finish the year with a good match (against Saint-Etienne) at home.”
Talking about his side’s hectic schedule, Elie Baup said that Marseille have to play a lot of matches in very short span of time because of their European commitments, but the players have dealt well with that. Les Phoceens have played almost 30 matches
uptil now and the players deserve credit for that.
“We are the only team to have played three matches in six days after a lot of games in the Europa League. We will have played 30 matches by the halfway stage in the season, so I have to take my hat off to my players.”
