Eligibility of ireland citizenship for non EEA?

I have work permit and i would like to know when will be able to appply for the citizenship of Ireland .

  1. honestly if you have a work permit you should have got the documentation to let you know how long you have to wait to get citizenship, its usually 5 years or marry an irish national or european citizen.


  2. If you have a work permit go to the Irish Embassy in Washington DC they will give you all that information.

  3. No clue, but I'd suggest contacting the appropriate office of the Irish Government, such as the Department of Foreign Affairs or the nearest Consulate.

  4. To become an Irish citizen through naturalisation, you must:

    have had a period of one year's continuous reckonable residence in the State immediately before the date of your application for naturalisation and, during the eight years preceding that, have had a total reckonable residence in the State amounting to four years.  

    If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA Member State, any period where you were required by law to have permission to remain in the State, but did not, will not be reckoned.
