  1. The jews never should have invented them in the first place! This is their legacy to all future generations!

  2. no it wont,we will hide them first rather than give them up.we cant take time off from work to fight a war so they will use nuclear weapons.and business wont give us paid leave to defend our nation so its back to nuclear weapons.

  3. Nope, people have been killing each other for centuries before the advent of nuclear weapons. They are a war deterrent if anything.

  4. the way i see it, nuclear weapons are a detterent to war-nobody dares to start a (major) war because they could be nuked. Therefore, eliminating nuclear weapons might actually increase the incidence of war

  5. Not necessary.

Terrorists was using some fertilizer bombs.

Earthquake would destroy South California and affecting Houston and NASA would not be able to intercept any foreign objects from space.

Destruction is in everywhere. Unless people can journey in a construction way, there is no hope on the earth.

  6. Would it?

Just out of curiosity, how many of the wars, guerilla conflicts, and terrorist attacks taking place around the world on a daily basis involve nuclear weapons?

As much as everyone throws a fit about nuclear weapons being the biggest threat to the world, they're the least used weapon in existence.  Only two have ever been used, and both of those were used under the most drastic, extraordinary of circumstances.

The results were so horrifying, no one's dared use one since.  Develop them, yes.  Use them?  No.

The threat of a nuclear strike has proven to be a much more effective weapon than nukes themselves ever could be.  Using a nuclear weapon in a world full of them is beyond stupid.  Military analysts call the concept "mutually assured destruction", and are fond of abbreviating it to "mad", because that's exactly what using a nuke against someone who can either retaliate directly, or who has an ally that would retaliate for them, is.

It's nuts.  The only thing you'd really get is a victory a few minutes long before you were vaporized in the counter-attack, so no one seriously contemplates using them.

They stick to all the other weapons humanity has been creative enough to come up with, since there's at least a chance of surviving the conflict long enough to enjoy your victory if you stick to using them.

So would it be a more peaceful place without nukes?

    I doubt it.

People waged wars just fine before they came along.  Nuclear weapons hit the scene, got used one time, and scared the p**s out of everyone... so everyone went right back to the way they had waged war before nukes came along.

When you get right down to it, the only thing the horror of nuclear weapons has done is to convince people not to wage nuclear wars and stick to conventional ones.  That's what everyone was doing in the first place, so it makes little difference if you keep them or toss them.

Even if you got rid of every single last nuclear weapon in the world, all you've done is gotten rid of a weapon no one was using anyway, in the middle of a world full of weapons they use every day.

That's about like suggesting the key to solving traffic congestion is to get rid of all the cars sitting abandoned on cement blocks or scrapped in a junkyard.

The world will become a more peaceful place when we start getting rid of the weapons we actually use, not when we get rid of the ones we don't.

  7. No. People throw rocks at each other fighting. Do we get rid of rocks too? Humans are aggressive creatures, we will find ways to wage war no matter what. The only way to make the world more peaceful is to eliminate us.

  8. It may make it safer but not more peaceful

  9. No. Actually the existence of nuclear weapons throughout the "Cold War" was why it never became "a Hot war" i.e. the primary reason why there was never any military conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact and the long period of peace between super powers. Today Russia does seem almost as aggressive and mischievous under Putin as when Stalin was in-charge, but like Stalin he understands that if he started a war against the West it could lead to worldwide annihilation. Even those running countries like Iran , Israel and Pakistan today or in the future are unlikely to use nuclear weapons because they understand that they will be used back on them. The nuclear "DETERRENT" has worked and is likely to continue to work.

  10. Interestingly enough, it was the nuclear weapons that prevented war between the Soviets and Americans.

Eliminating all nuclear weapons would lead to a pre-1945 world, which was not very peaceful.

    No indeed.

  11. you can't put this genie back in the bottle.

  12. You can't de-invent something just like that. You will never be able to stop people driving cars, of flying, or using a mobile phone. They are all here to stay unfortunately and that includes nuclear weapons..
