I just bought the Elinchrom 2 Light 400BX light KIT, it came with sync cables , though... when I plug the 3.5mm end into the light, it's fine, but the other 'pc' end is a bit smaller than my Nikon D300 port, it WILL go in, but it slides out very easily and does not snap. It also does work, but again it's obvious its not meant to fit, I guess these things aren't really universal, so what's the best solution, also i've been told it's much better to use a hot shoe anyhow, but what is the size needed for the elinchrom cable?

  1. Before you start pluging anything into your $1700 camera call Nikon USA's free live tech help line, (800) NIKON-UX, they are open all the time, 24/7/365

Hot shoe adapters; if they use any trigger voltage higher than 12v, you can fry your cameras electronics ... not covered by Nikon's warranty.

I use a Pocket Wizard when using studio flash units.
