Elite eight announced for Bali include defending champion Ana Ivanovic – Tennis News
Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions 2011 will be contested in Bali next week from November 3rd to 6th. The prize money that has been decided for the tournament is around $600,000 and the year-end finale will be contested amongst
eight elite women from the field of tennis. The tournament is conducted for the third time and promises to provide the most exciting matches for the viewers.
Six direct participants for this tournament are Marion Bartoli, Sabine Lisicki, Roberta Vinci, Daniela Hantuchova, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Nadia Petrova and the two sizzling wild card entrants are Ana Ivanovic and Peng Shuai. All of the selected participants
will battle it out at the pitch for the year-end title.
Tournament Director, Kevin Livesey, welcomed all the participants and wished them best of luck. He stated that everyone is excited about the tournament. Exciting matches will be the essence of this tournament and we are privileged to have a group of thrilling
and outstanding group of players that will contest this tournament.
Peng Shuai has won this tournament three years ago in the doubles category and has been very prolific performer this year having won majority of her matches and making it to WTA top 20 players. She started as a World No.72 and now she is ranked 16 at the
moment. The miraculous change in ranking shows her consistency and she looks set to stun the crowd with another title triumph at Bali.
Ana Ivanovic will have a title defence this year having won this title last year and will look to double her record at Bali. She had a swirly year and stayed in and out of action due to injuries but she is completely fit at the moment and looks all set to
defend her title.
Roberta Vinci has been the most successful player this year having won titles at Barcelona, Hertogenbosch and Budapest. Two other title contenders Sabine Lisicki and Anabel Medina Garrigues have won two titles apiece and the other three participants Marion
Bartoli, Daniela Hantuchova and Nadia Petrova have won one title each.

11 WTA singles titles between them this year, and with the addition of defending champion Ana Ivanovic and Peng Shuai as wildcards, I'm sure the fans will be in for a week of exciting competition."
