EliteXC vs. UFC?

Is there any big difference between the promotions? Fighting wise, same rules and stuff?

Does EliteXC have any big named fighters?

Does EliteXC pay there winners/fighters alot less then UFC?

Is it easier to get into EliteXC?

If you're in EliteXC is there a change to get noticed and go to the UFC?

Thanks.

  1. Yea, Kimbo is a big name. Nick Diaz is a big name. Shamrock is a big name.......

I am confident to guess that U.F.C fighters get payed more and if they don't they should.

U.F.C is top of the hill, You have to be top level to get there and if your really good but not that good you might end up at elite XC. XC is great and you have to be great to get there but you gotta be even better for U.F.C

  2. UFC has the cream of the crop.  Fighters like BJ Penn (who's from Hawaii) would think twice about fighting in EliteXC.  And EliteXC last two major events were in Hawaii.  Last time I checked the UFC ain't coming to Hawaii anytime soon.

Kimbo is a good storyline, but really think about it!!! Can he really hang with the UFC "big boys"?

  3. I'll answer question to question.

    Difference?

    They do partnerships with organizations.

    Big named fighters?

Murilo Ninja Rua, Robbie Lawler, "Kimbo", Gina Carano, Nick Diaz are a few.

    Pay?

I am assuming less, because it's not that big.

    Easier?

Maybe, I heard they showcase a lot of local grown talent.

    Spotlight?

I am sure, maybe some fighters get a chance or maybe another chance.

Addition, look out for Brett Rodgers, finally a good prospect in the HW division.

Why no LHW and HW champs?

There is not enough talent in the pool

  4. The main difference is that the UFC has had a chance to create a lot of their stars where as the EliteXC hasn't. If you had asked most people about Forrest Griffin before TUF the majority wouldnt have had a clue. But now that he's been on TV a ton, we know about him and think he's a star. EliteXC has some talent but they havent been showcased to America as much as the UFC guys have. UFC has more higher paid people, but some EliteXC guys (Kimbo) make really good money (over 6 figures a fight).

Elite XC has LW and HW divisions, they just dont have champions yet. They havent had as much time to develop their talent pool in the areas but it's something that they're looking towards. They have some talent at heavyweight, but their LHW division could use some help.

EliteXC fighters havent gone to the UFC a whole lot yet. It's actually been a lot of old UFC fighters going to EliteXC. UFC, typically has higher standards; where are the UFC is more interested in talent, EliteXC, since its new, is more interested in people it can market so it can get some popularity, attention, and money.

  5. Same rules for the most part.

Gina Carano, Nick Diaz, Slice, a couple others.

    Probably less

    Don't know

Yeah, if you do well, the UFC may sign you when you become a free agent.

There aren't HW or LHW divisions in EXC because they don't have the talent pool yet.  They are considering adding a HW belt in the near future.

For mmlee, the UFC hasn't gone to Hawaii yet because MMA is currently unsanctioned in Hawaii.  They have already gone on record as saying that they will do their first outdoors show in Hawaii as soon as the state sanctions the sport of MMA.

  6. Big names of EliteXC: Nick Diaz, Robbie Lawer Kimbo and a few others. Probably get paid around the same, Easier sure but how long will the contract last? And if you show enough skill and your contract expires with EliteXC then yes you could get noticed and picked up with the UFC. However it is usually the opposite, fighters who have trouble with the UFC move on to EliteXC.

  7. Elite XC has a few good fighters, but only a few and Kimbo is not one of them.  UFC is like the Majors and Elite XC is the AAA.  But, there are all sorts of promotions around, it just so happens that the UFC is the top dog.

  8. Elite XC is basically c**p! they got some fighters but soon the elite xc is going to tank along with Affliction and others the UFC is the NFL to the XFL or AFL... but in 10 years the UFC will still be going and the rest of others will be done.
