Elizabeth Beisel accomplishes Women’s 400m freestyle gold medal – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Elizabeth Beisel of ABF-FL accomplished gold medal of the Women’s 400m freestyle on final day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 19-year-old Beisel continued her nerve-wrecking form on last day of the tournament as she snared gold medal of the mediocre-distance freestyle event. With her epic pace and laudable start, she ensured her place on the finishing wall for gold medal.
Her gruelling effort remained nearly half a second faster from her closest competitor and she captured gold medal of the event with the timing of 4 minutes and 15.54 seconds.
The champion was chased by Jamie L Bohunicky of GSC-FL, who stayed 0.46 seconds apart and tapped the wall for silver medal with the timing of 4 minutes and 16.00 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Kendal A Casey of DBS-FL, who stayed 2.79 seconds apart and hit the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 4 minutes and 18.79 seconds.
Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Sharla M Milne of GSC-FL, who was 0.19 seconds away from proving her mettle for third position and settled on the wall as fourth fastest swimmer with the timing of 4 minutes and 18.98 seconds.
Milne was chased by Taylor A Katz of SYS-FL, who was nearly 1.50 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and reached the finishing blockade as fifth position holder with the timing of 4 minutes and 20.46 seconds.
Katz was chased by her teammate, Hannah L James, who remained two full body lengths apart and ended her swim in sixth place with the timing of 4 minutes and 22.88 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was secured by Cameron B Davis of SYS-FL, who was 1.09 seconds behind and posted an effort of 4 minutes and 23.97 seconds.
Last position of the discipline was secured by Ellie J Berdusco, who completed her race in a time of 4 minutes and 26.33 seconds for eighth position.
The position holders received awards and accolades for their notable efforts in the 400m discipline at the prize ceremony of the championship.
