Elizabeth Beisel acquires Women’s 200m freestyle gold – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Elizabeth L Beisel of ABF-FL acquired gold medal of the Women’s 200m freestyle on final day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 19-year-old Beisel, who qualified in the playoff as second best swimmer, elevated her efforts in the final lap and secured gold medal of the discipline.
With her fascinating efforts, she remained comfortably ahead of her opponents throughout the race and tapped the finishing end for first position.
She continued her nerve-wrecking pace throughout the discipline and hit the finishing wall for the crown with an effort of 2 minutes and 01.13 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Stephanie M Proud of GSC-FL, who also improved her position in the playoff and proved her mettle for silver medal of the discipline by producing a time of 2 minutes and 03.08 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Kendal A Casey of DBS-FL, who was only two strokes apart and secured bronze medal of the discipline by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 03.45 seconds.
Fourth spot of the discipline was obtained by Jamie L Bohunicky, of GSC-FL, who stayed nearly two strokes behind and hit the finishing blockade with an effort of 2 minutes and 05.42 seconds.
Bohunicky was chased by Taylor A Katz of SYS-FL, who was only 0.22 seconds behind and accomplished fifth position of the discipline by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 05.64 seconds.
The 17-year-old Katz was chased by her team-member, Danielle F Valley, who stayed almost 1.50 seconds apart and hit the finishing wall for sixth position with the timing of 2 minutes and 07.03 seconds.
Valley was chased by Summer S Finke of Spa-FL, who stayed 0.67 seconds apart and secured seventh finest spot of the event with an effort of 2 minutes and 07.70 seconds.
Last position of the discipline was secured by CeCe A Williams of ATAC-FL, who finished eighth in the event with the timing of 2 minutes and 09.11 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts after the session.
