Elizabeth Beisel wins Women’s 200m back-stroke title – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
ABFNE’s Elizabeth Beisel impressed the arena on day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals in Paloalto, California, on Friday, August 5.
The session of the long course nationals organised the Women’s 200m back-stroke final, where Beisel came out strongly and notched the gold medal by posting a fastest time of 2 minutes and 08.81 seconds.
In the corresponding meet, Elizabeth Pelton of NBACMD earned the silver medal with a winning time of 2 minutes and 09.08 seconds, while Bonnie Brandon of MACSCO snared the bronze medal with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 09.91 seconds. Megan Romano
of ABSCGA finished fourth on the podium by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 12.07 seconds, whereas, Madison White of CROWPC rounded out the top five in 2 minutes and 12.89 seconds.
Katie Hoff of FASTCA posted a time of 2 minutes and 12.96 seconds to finish sixth, while Ashley Jones of IUIN settled seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 13.10 seconds. Kendyl Stewart of NCASI was placed eighth in 2 minutes and 13.13 seconds, whereas, Kylie
Stewart of DYNAGA grabbed ninth spot in 2 minutes and 13.87 seconds. Morgan Scroggy of ABSCGA settled tenth in 2 minutes and 15.29 seconds.
In the Women’s 200m back-stroke B final, Jillian Vitarius of BTAGU earned first place honours with a sterling time of 2 minutes and 12.95 seconds. Sarah Denninghoff of FORDAZ was placed second in a time of 2 minutes and 13.17 seconds, while Carly Smith of
NCACNC finished third in 2 minutes and 13.88 seconds. Lauren Smart of FORDAZ was placed fourth in 2 minutes and 13.91 seconds, while Julia Smit of STANPC settled fifth in a time of 2 minutes and 14.37 seconds.
Madeline Dirado of STANPC won the Women’s 200m back-stroke C Final with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 11.14 seconds, while Dagny Knutson of UN07FL finished second in 2 minutes and 13.40 seconds. Patricia Regan of CSCIN settled third in a time of 2
minutes and 14.85 seconds.
