New Zealand’s Elizabeth Power and Erika Rodriguez showed their elevated skills on court as they played remarkable badminton in Women’s Doubles clash and toppled their country-mates Susan Clark and Cara Lee Moore at the Senior Closed Doubles 2012 on Tuesday,
August 7, at Auckland, New Zealand.
The impressive Elizabeth and Erika showed their elite class by playing to their maximum potential and they did not face any considerable trouble in beating Susan and Cara in a commanding fashion.
The in-form Elizabeth and Erika played at their best speed on court and they did not show their rivals any mercy and eventually ended up the match in straight games with a good margin on the score board.
Susan and Cara, on the other hand, played at their best speed but they failed to put up strong resistance against Elizabeth and Erika and lost to them in two sets without snatching any game.
Elizabeth and Erika played with control and precision in the opening sets as they remained aggressive on court and easily took a wonderful lead at the early stage.
The aggressive Elizabeth and Erika kept on playing dominating badminton and took a reasonable lead on the board until the one-minute mid-game interval.
After the break, Elizabeth and Erika continued displaying a solid performance on score board as they did not let their rivals to catch up the deficit and remained successful in ending up the opening set with a four-point advantage of 21-17 score on the board.
In the following set, Susan and Cara also showed a few glimpses of their brilliance as they played attacking badminton and also remained close to their opponents at the early stage.
However, Elizabeth and Erika managed to take over the control of rallies and set up a reasonable gap until the mid-game break.
After the one-minute interval, Elizabeth and Erika did not drop their speed at any stage in the concluding half and they remained successful in bagging the set with a three-point margin of 21-18.
Elizabeth and Erika defeated Susan and Cara in straight games with a reasonable 21-17 and 21-18 margin on the score board.
