I have been interested in Elizabeth Bathory for years. They did an extensive show on her on the Discovery Channel once. The website I provided says her diaries are in the State Archives in Budapest.

  4. The cult of Elisabeth  bathory, the Blood Countess, has been an orginisation of sorts that has been gathering pace since the 19th century.  She is recognised in history as the first and most prolific female serial killer.  As she was also an Aristocrat this has added to her mystyque and murderous ways in the Carpathian Mountains and forests and marshes of that area.

There is a very good book written by Tony Thorne titled "Countess Dracula" in which he has delved very deeply into all her family and documentation which you should try to read before forming your own opinion.

There has been too much potrayed about her in books, documentories or horror films that has taken advantage of this Aristocratic Woman.

Read the book and you will be surprised, it contains all the information that you are asking about.

    Good Luck.
