  1. What is your question?   Just guessing but:

treadmills are like running on a sidewalk or street.  Your feet are pounding the "pavement" with every stride.  Some of the more expensive one have padding but usually any padding comes from your running shoes.  Many people believe that the constant pounding is not good for your leg joints.

elliptical trainers have foot places that move in an elliptical pattern the way your foot moves when you are walking or running.  You place your foot on the metal foot pad and it remains in constant contact as you "run" There is no pounding of your foot on a hard surface and it has a more natural movement similar to running.

both provide the same type of exercise.  In both cases the better quality units provide a better exercise but if you are using it for only a few minutes a day you will not notice much difference.

  2. Dont do much for me personally.. But for overweight ppl wud probs be good..

I guess ur wanting to know about using it for cycling? Like cross training?

I wudn suggest it.  Their not that great a machine all in all!  I Generally try to avoid them ;)
