Does anyone know where I can find a really good color picture of the 1976 Preakness winner Elocutionist? I was also reading and learned that was his last race, does anyone know what happened?

  1. Elocutionist, a son of Gallant Romeo out of Strictly Speaking, by Fleet Nasrullah, died in 1995 at the age of 22.  He stood at stud at   ;  his best offspring were probably Eloquack, a stakes winner of almost $300,000; Momsfurrari, who in a career spanning 92 starts, won over $400,000; and Recitation, who was the winner of the French 2000 Guineas (Poule D'essai Des Poulains) in 1981.

As a broodmare sire, he's probably best known as the sire of Rowdy Angel, dam of Demons Begone and Angel Fever, who became dam of Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus.

Elocutionist was a "bargain basement" yearling.  Owner Eugene Cashman bought him as a yearling for just $15,000.

I wish I could have found you a color photo of Elocutionist, but this is the best I could find:
