Elusive Kate expected to thrive in Coronation Stakes
Elusive Kate is expected to produce an electric pace at Ascot racecourse in a bid to notch up first position in the Coronation Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) (Fillies), a high-stakes Class 1 contest that will take place on Friday, June 22. The
action is set to start at 3:45 (GMT).
On the soft track of 1 mile, the John Gosden-trained bay filly will run against 11 competitors including Bugie D’Amore, Cardigan, Fallen For You, Homecoming Queen, Intense Pink, Irish History, Laugh Out Loud, Maybe, Russelliana, Samitar and Starscope.
At the end of the race, the winner will walk away with the ace title along with a prize cheque worth £154,535.
Elusive Kate owns a terrific track record as she has won 4 of her total 6 starts so far. The three-year-old young and enthusiastic sprinter started her career with 4th position on June 4, 2011. She moved ahead to accomplish four fantastic victories
in a row from June 15 to October 2.
The brilliant daughter of Elusive Quality out of Gout De Terroir finished 8th in her last outing on November 4.
The filly has been out of action since almost seven months. During this period, she passed through some strong training sessions that polished her skills further.
Now, Elusive Kate is likely to stage a classic comeback in the Coronation Stakes. She will surely be able to seal success emphatically provided she is spared by Maybe.
Maybe surprised the horseracing world by winning each of the first five races of her career from May 11 to August 28, 2011. The A. P. O’Brien-trained bay filly gained a third in her second last start on May 6, 2012.
Thus, the daughter of Galileo out of Sumora poses to be as talented as Elusive Kate. There is going to be a stern scuffle in the race. Let us see who of the duo manages to thrive.
Laugh Out Loud too looks to be strong enough. The Mick Channon-trained grey filly bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs for two times each during February-April and May-June 2012.
Homecoming Queen will also perform well today. The veteran bay filly elegantly won a big race each in April and May 2012. She stepped ahead to finish 4th in her last outing on May 27.
In this situation, there will be a tough tug of war at Ascot. Good luck to all the runners.
