Elwick Ragtag to steer the Bet On Your Mobile @ Williamhill.Com Stakes on 28th February
The Grade A2 Bet On Your Mobile @ Williamhill.Com Stakes are to be held on Tuesday, 28th February at Newcastle over 480 metres. The six hounds will compete for the £112 prize money.
The lineup includes Elwick Ragtag, Thurlesbeg Host, Sleek Joe, Stormy Glen, Stay On Maldini and Misty Morn.
Elwick Ragtag, Head Bound’s two-year-old white and black son out of b***h Raggletagglrosie, has struck two victories during the season that marked the beginning of his career.
He won on 17th January in a 480 metres race at Newcastle. He was through the track distance in 30.39 seconds, leading by 6 ¼ lengths. Carneys Country was the runner up of the race.
He came second in his next two starts and then came fifth in the William Hill – The Homes Of Betting Stakes on 14th February at Newcastle. The winner covered the 480 metres track distance in 29.47 seconds, leading by five lengths.
Elwick Ragtag who was the 7/4 favourite of the race could only manage the fifth position after racing through the track in 30.25 seconds.
On 23rd February, Elwick Ragtag won the William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV at Newcastle over 480 metres. The winner clocked the track distance in 29.62 seconds and led by 1 ½ length. The 7/4 favourite for the race, Myella Duke was on the other side of the wire in 29.74 seconds.
Elwick Ragtag will make his seventh start and race for his third career victory.
Sleek Joe, Westmead Joe’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Snappy Girl, has won once and came second once through the two starts that he has made during the 2012 season.
He won a 480 metres race at Newcastle on 7th February, which he finished in 30.54 seconds while in lead of 1 ¼ lengths. Kingsmill Move was the runner up for the race. Then on 21st February, Sleek Joe was second in yet another 480 metres race at Newcastle. Saratoga Stan was the winner of the race who went through the wire in 29.40 seconds, leading by 1 ½ lengths.
In case Sleek Joe maintains the level of performance that he has displayed in the last two starts then he also has high chances of going through the wire before the rest.
