Email Alerts on Go 2.0?

Question

I have HTC Cingular 3125, after I uninstalled Go 1.0 I have no way to receive alerts when a new email is received in my inbox. I set the email setting to push, however, I can not sign my phone up for alerts, it is not supported. In fact Cingular or HTC is not even a choice for phone manufacturer. Had to reload Go 1.0, this is stupid, why take away the most valuable function on GO (Email alerts?) and replace it with fancy graphics? I am NOT impressed! Any ideas? Even filters won't handle general inbox email you have to specify sender or domain name.
