Email encoding help!?

Question

I have been trying to use gmail to send a email to my friend in taiwan. But whenever I receive a reply from him, he said he can't read my chinese as my original chinese character will be replace by wierd symbols and other chinese character.

I am using njstar to write email to him through chinese. Anyone knows whats the problem? Why can't he see what I am writing?

maybe it's in the data encryption setting in your mail/pc OR his mail/pc..
