Email invitations not sending?

I'm trying to send an email invitation to someone to join my group. She has not received it. I sent one to her again a few hours ago, and also sent an invitation to myself to test and I have not received it either. Is there a delay with the invitation system? If so, does anyone know how long it takes?

go look in the groups logs under memberships to see if the invites list there. invites have always been glitchy, and depending on the e-mail provider it was sent to, it's blocked as spam.

if your group isn't closed/ invite only, send the URL of the group in a private e-mail- URL is locatd in the web browser while on the group site. the person can go to the link, and click the big blue tab on the right Join This Group
