Email relationships with long lost love - experiences?

Do email love relationships ever come to anything? I am recently in contact with a long lost love but we are both married. He lives in NY and I live in TX. I am crazy about him still or again. There are no children at home anymore for either of us. Should I keep it up? Has anyone had a good long-term outcome from emailing an old love or am I just being "forty-ish and foolish"? What was/is your experience? Does it always end badly? How are you or did you handle it?

  1. In all honesty I don't think so... I was 17 and my boyfriend at that time was 21- we had some issues to deal with but we loved each other. Unfortunately I moved to WI and he stayed in TX. We did continue to talk to each other and eventually fell out of the relationship. He went his way and I went mine. 7yrs later because of MYSPACE we are now back in contact, he is married and has a family and I have mine. We e-mail each other and talk about the past and sometimes wonder where we would be now if we would have stayed together. However, we both have realized that what we have now is a wonderful friendship and that is how it was meant to be. I don't know if that is true in your case, but I wish you luck none the less...
