Emailing a radio station?

Question

ok so iwant to email a radio station in DC to ask my favorite DJ for money to go to a talent competition in Florida.

1. do you think they would actually answer me and donate to my cause?

2. what is HOT 99.5' s email address

It's going to be hard to get through to your favorite DJ via the phone lines, especially when he or she is on the air, mainly because they're focused on stunts, information that have to relay on the air, getting interactive and funny calls, etc. You'd have a better chance contacting them via their Myspace or email to ask them for their help and their input on your situation. Also, it depends on what kind of talent competition you're trying to attend, whether it's just something for yourself to compete against other people for some kind of trophy, or if it's some filmed dance or singing competition, in which case they may be more compelled to donate since they might get some exposure.

Either way, I'd contact the programming department at Hot 95.5. The promotions director is Jessica Ritch and her email is...  [e-mail]

Explain to her what you're trying to do and how much money you'd need and she could tell you if it is something the station would be interested in participating in or at least forward your information to the DJ that you really want help from. The promotions director is the person who would set some kind of fund raiser for you up.
