Emails not stored online while using POP3?

I use outlook as my regular email client for my gmx email account. When I access my account through webmail when I'm out of the office, emails I have previously recieved through outlook are not stored in my webmail inbox. Why is this?

GMX is still in beta so you could ask for this feature but at present it looks like any message can either be viewed from their website or downloaded via POP3, not both. Gmail will only forward a message to one POP3 but it does retain the messages for web viewing, it should be simple enough for GMX to offer at least that much. But they'll only do it if they get feedback that shows people want that feature.
