The Siena striker’s representative has stated that the forward would love to follow manager Giuseppe Sannino to the Rosanero; admits that there has been no such interest as yet.
Emanuele Calaio’s agent has voiced his inclination to follow in the footsteps of the Siena manager to Palermo, although the Rosanero have not shown any interest in the striker as yet.
Speculation has grown over the Robur ace’s move to the Aquile, after the Siena manager and the sporting director Giorgio Perinetti have already flown away from the club to the Eagles, with hopes of replicating their success at
the new outfit.
Calaio’s agent and sibling stated that it would be a wonderful opportunity for his client to re-unite with his old bosses at the new club. However, the representative added that there has been no such interest from Palermo, and
maintained that the reports in the press are nothing more than worthless rumours.
The Siena striker’s brother stated that the Aquile do not appear to be in the need of another attacker, and admitted that such a deal seems a little farfetched at the moment.
However, the Bianconeri player’s representative stated that there is a long time to go before the end of the summer transfer window, and insisted that anything could happen by then.
While talking to calcionews24.com, Umberto Calaio stated:
“For us it would be a pleasure to follow the director and Coach there, but at present these are only rumours. At this time Palermo appear complete up front and such an operation does not seem feasible. However, I would not rule
anything out as the summer is long.”

The 2011-12 season has been the most successful one for Calaio, as he scored 11 league goals for Siena before fracturing his fibula in March.
The 30-year-old’s partnership with Mattia Destro upfront has also been a prominent feature of the Robur’s promising campaign in their latest campaign.
