The Italians are currently busy battling it out for the World Cup qualifiers for the international tournament to be held in 2014. They have played three matches in the Serie A so far, and have amassed two victories and a draw in the matches that they have
played so far in the match.
Their results have seen them collect a total of seven points from a possible nine points, and the points dropped by the Nazionale outfit against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bulgaria-c2861 saw them face to face with heaps of criticism levied on the national team. One of the players that was
criticised for their performances in the qualifying rounds of the World Cup 2014 was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 and his club team mate has leapt to the defence of his club and country man.
Emanuele Giaccherini has remarked that it is highly unfair to deem the former Parma striker as unsuccessful, and remarked on his initial performances for Juventus as examples of his strengths. After heavy criticism was being levied on him, Giovinco had leapt
to his own defence by claiming that his performances should be evaluated by his collective performances and not by one off performances.
Giaccherini remarked on the comments made by the former Parma striker and mentioned that he agreed with his comments. He further cited that the diminutive striker had gone on to score an impressive number of goals, given the number of matches that have been
played in the Serie A so far.
The former Cesena man was talking to the Italian tabloid, Corriere dello Sport, and during his conversation with their media personnel, he went on to remark:
“As for Giovinco, he started very well with Juve this season and already scored three goals. I read what he said and have to agree, a player must be judged on overall performance and not just his goals.”
It would have to be seen whether Cesare Prandelli holds faith in the abilities of Giovinco when the Azzurri outfit faces the Danish outfit in their fourth qualifying match for the World Cup.
