The uncapped Juventus defender believes that he has the technical and physical abilities to adapt to the change of system, if such a need arises for the Azzurri in the upcoming Euro 2012.
The uncapped Emanuele Giaccherini has claimed that he is ready to start against the reigning World and European Champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, if Cesare Prandelli chooses to play Juventus’ 3-5-2 system in their first match of the Euros.
The Bianconeri midfielder was a surprise inclusion in the Azzurri chief’s final selection for the European tournament, and has been playing in the wing-back position during the training.
Giaccherini stated that he is happy playing at the left side of the defence, as that is a position he is well accustomed to.
The Bianconeri defender insisted that the left-back position is a very challenging role to play, as he has to cover the whole of the left side for his team. However, the Old Lady defender maintained that he is well capable of handling
the challenges that come with the wing-back role.
The former Cesena player admitted that playing in a four-man defence will be a difficult task for him, but stated that he has the spirit of hard work and sacrifice that is needed to perform well in any position.
While talking to the press, the 27-year-old said:
“I’m happy playing wide left, it is a position that I have covered in the past. You have to sacrifice yourself a lot because you have to cover the whole flank, but I have the physical and technical abilities to succeed. If we changed
to a four-man defence? I don’t know how I would do as a left-back. It is the movement that counts, the application, the desire and the sacrifice.”
There is a lot of speculation in the press, suggesting that Prandelli could change to 3-5-2 system instead of the 4-3-1-2 formation, which failed in their 3-0 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991.
Giaccherini stated that he can be equally valuable for the Azzurri in both the formations, and believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 have the experience in their ranks that can cope with a change of system even during the course of a game.
