  1. Hm...

The only thing I know to suggest is drink lots of water and eat a lot of fibre. It doesn't have to be just bran and stuff. Eating fruits with the skin on, and eating green leafy veggies gives your body fibre.

But...seeing as your issue seems pretty severe (5 days is a LONG time!), maybe you should see a doctor.

    Good luck!

  2. Maybe youre constipated all the time. ha

  3. Well maybe you should try drinking more things that will make you go.

Such as apple juice for instance.

Cranberry juice is also good for the digestive system.

    Good luck to you!

  4. I feel the way sometimes, I lose my appetite too, but this is WAY unhealthy. Even if i'm not hungry i eat 1200 calories every day  but it isnt a problem for me because i love to eat. If you dont, your metabolism slows! It gets slow because your body isnt used to the little calorie intake as it was before, and if you eat something, you will just gain the weight back!

so moral of the story, eat 1200 calories aday or your just gonna gain the weight back, sometimes more:)

  5. For me drinking more water than I usually would in one sitting sometimes helps.

  6. " :) " above made a great point about making sure you have at least 1200 calories a day.  You may even need more or less.  For example, with my weight and height I need at least 1400 calories a day.  You should look up your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).  Your BMR is the amount of calories your body and organs need to just exist.  It's the amount of calories your body would burn if you just stayed in bed all day.  By consuming less, your metabolism slows down because your body thinks that you are starving it.  As a result, when you eat your body will want to store the food as fat because it thinks you are starving.

You may want to see your doctor to make sure that there isn't any health related reason for your lack of appetite and constipation.  If you're given a clean bill of health, you may want to see a nutritionist who can give you a safe and healthy eating plan.  It will help you with your appetite and in the bathroom arena!

I'm guilty of having disordered eating in the past and can attest to the fact that your body will be damaged by not feeding it enough.  It's taken me a couple of years to get my metabolism back.  One of the side effects of not eating regularly is severe constipation.  I used to be able to go for a long time like you without defecating, even after I'd binge on a large amount of food after restricting my intake for so long.  I've ranged between a BMI (body mass index) of 17.5 and 21.  Now that I'm  making sure I give my body what it needs, I've stabled out at a healthy BMI of 19.  You CAN eat and be healthy and slim at the same time.

  7. How did you lose the weight? Diet pills, laxatives, starvation? All of the above? If you have disrupted the bowel function you need to jump start it again with lots of water, juices, and high fiber grains.

  8. Well, as for regularity...my usual pattern is that I don't need to go for several days, then several times in one day.  I've always been that way, and it's never been a problem.  But, your situation is sudden.

Some answers might be found in how you lost the weight, but I'll do my best without knowing.

It might be you need a little help.  You might want to try eating foods high in fiber; that might help return you to normal.  Or you could ramp it a step up and try Metamucil, which is basically lots of fiber all at once.
