In the 6th grade I dressed up like a girl for "Dress Up Day". Basically you could dress up like anything. My teacher had made mention of two boys in another homeroom class a few years earlier who cam dressed as Lavern & Shirley. She thought it was cute and funny and wondered if any boys in our class were brave enough, as she put it, to do it. Another boy in my class asked me and two other boys to join him and we'd all come dressed as girls. We all had crushes on the teacher and agreed.

It was embarrassing enough asking a neighbor girl to borrow some clothes and telling my mom I needed a wig. She borrowed one from her friend, did my make up, and even drove me to school that day so I wouldn't have to ride the bus. I walked in wearing black maryjanes, white knee socks, a knee-length black ruffled skirt, stuffed bra, a pink blouse, a necklace and bracelets, make up and the wig. Only to find it was the wrong day!

I had dressed up a day too early. That was EMBARRASSING!
