I just want to know if the vehicle that a embassador is driving in the USA is technically their respective country, and would their countries laws apply in that vehicle. I know its sounds crazy but I was just wondering.

  1. Ambassadors usually have immunity,so I guess will be their country.

  2. the embassy its land and all vehicles registered to that embassy are considered to be the soil of the country that it is representing.

so it is not subject to the laws of the country they are in. They can not be searched or entered in any way.

embassies are part of the foreign state whilst in use. Canadian law would not apply in, say, the Saudi embassy. A famous British incident involved a police woman, Yvonne Fletcher being shot from the Libyan embassy in London. None was prosecuted, because the perpetrator was on Libyan soil and protected by diplomatic immunity

  3. No, there is a popular misconception that a foreign embassy is considered to be the soil of that country, but that is not the case - it is not sovereign soil, but the foreign embassies (and their representatives) are accorded certain rights through reciprocal international agreements (most notably, the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations {1961}, and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations {1963} ) .

Diplomatic privileges and immunities stipulate that covered diplomats (and family members) may not be arrested or detained, or have their residences (or vehicles) entered and/or searched.
