Embroidery. After I put in the first few stitches, trim the thread and set it going again it skips

Question

After I put in the first few stitches, trim the thread and set it going again it skips to the last color of the design regardless of where I started. It isn't the card I switched to a different one. When I switched the design to single color it just stopped half way through the first color.(This is with my Artista 200, I couldn't find a forum for them. I have one of each and they're pretty similiar)
