Embroidery software question

I have Designer V.3 software. The laptop that I have my software on is about to die so I bought a new one before I couldn't get XP anymore. However, this new computer does NOT have a serial port. Is there anything out there that would allow me to install and use my software on my new computer?? I would really like to upgrade to V.5 but until I'm able to do that I would really like to use my current software in the meantime. Thank you in advance for any advise that you may have. annie
