i know there is a points system on your skills and age the thing is ive been a plasterer for years but im not qualified could i still get a skilled visa or am i wasting my time any advise would be a great help cheeres

with your age and lack of qualifications i don't think you will have much luck getting enough points

i believe there is an expo in London very soon and Australian immigration officials will be there to answer questions about immigrating

We need plasterers solid and gyprock.  I needed a cieling done and had to wait months and months and months.holding up the whole house renovation.

Absolutely worth a try.  Aust. ;is looking for skilled people and you have a skill that is in demand so put i the paperwork they can only say no.  Put in all your experience.  Brisbane is a good place to live. A place called Mango Hill'Griffin is all the go on the northside of Brisbane.  Everything is new. new shopping centre, schools, day care centres, pool, library It can cater from birth to death.  It is huge and a lot of people from overseas are calling it home.  Uk. some friends have  sent their kids to Grace College.  Look on google earth and look up Northlakes or North Lakes Shopping Centre"and see how huge this development is.  It is one of the highest growth areas in aust.  Good luck. Put in your paperwork friends I know have done this and have never looked back.

I would put down that you are a skilled plasterer and have been employed as a plasterer for many years, (I assume that you can prove your work record), tell them that you do not have qualifications but are willing to show your competence on the job, I think that you stand a good chance of being accepted because tradesmen like yourself are really needed over there.

I really hope that you make it, you will have a great life and a real future for your children in Oz, get out of this country while the option is there, I am afraid that the UK is going downhill fast.
