Emergency: I need an orthodondist or dentist?

I moved across country a few months ago and my lower permanent retainer popped off on one side while flossing last night. I've had it on for 10 years and don't have insurance or an orthodontist. What should I do?

  1. Look in the Yellow Pages and make a few interviews to look at potential orthodontists.

  2. Ask a neighbor or a friend for a referral to a dentist they like. See if they can re cement the wire or if they can refer you to an orthodontist. It should not be very costly to re cement the wire.

  3. You are going to need a general dentist to make a referral to an orthodontist....

Most dentists take credit cards or CARE CREDIT (google it) as payment.....and it is a good idea to have a dentist before another emergency happens....plus, getting checked and cleaned every year....
