Emergency brake is easier to pull up?

I recently had my right rear caliper replaced. Actually, it was replaced about an hour ago. One thing I notice is when I put my car in park and pull on the emergency brake, it is alot easier to pull and pulls up alot higher. I hate to sound like a worrier but should i be concerned. The emergency brake is working it is just alot easier to pull up than before the right rear caliper was replaced. I have a 2006 Honda Accord.

  1. The old caliper was prob seized and wasnt working, thats why its easier. If your not both wheels are locking with the brake on, theres nothin to worry about.

  2. the mechanic may have forgotten to reattach the cable so you might be only applying the brake on one side, on the other hand it might be nothing, you could always talke it back to the mechanic and express your concern jsut to be sure, they shouldnt have a problem checking it out

  3. It could be the bad caliper was making it hard to pull up and the new caliper has corrected it. If the E Brake will hold the car when you put it in gear and try to go forward with a light touch on the gas it should be O.K. However if it won't hold the car then you need to have it adjusted.

  4. i would,nt worry about it as long as it holds and releases.

  5. Something to try first is with engine running and e-brake off pump the brakes a few times as I think these have an automatic adjuster.  If it still doesn't feel right talk to whoever did the work and get them to check it.

  6. No way a caliper went bad on an '06 Honda to begin with, but anyways the einsteins that replaced your good caliper obviously didn't re-adjust the parking brake. I assume you have a warranty, so I would take it back and have it adjusted properly. Next time, get a second opinion, there is no way a caliper went bad on a two year old vehicle.
