My friend's sister in law's just had a baby and she can't get back because there are no flights due to strikes. Can anyone tell me another method and direct me to train, bus or coach websites that could help me out. Thanks

  1. I suppose you speak about Bordeaux in the South West of France :

I think the best and the easiest is to take a train from Bordeaux to Paris (TGV : High Speed Train : about 3 hours) and then Eurostar from Paris to London (2h35).

In Paris, she'll have to change station from Gare Montparnasse to Gare du Nord,  take a taxi if she has luggage and a baby....

To be sure, you have to calculate 2 hours to change stations in Paris, because you need to arrive 45 minutes before the departure of the Eurostar.

It's possible to go directly to the train station in Bordeaux and book to the desk. It will be , maybe easier, a person will inform her the best way.

    Go to :

    www.sncf.com or www.voyages-sncf.com

    www.eurostar.fr

  2. By train, you can buy a 2 leg ticket: Bordeaux->Lille and Lille->London. The transfer will be a lot easier than in Paris.
