  2. All previous answers are correct - If you haven't given your present employer a P45 nor completed a P46 they have to tax you at Basic Rate on all your earnings.  If you do complete a P46 and state that this is your only employment, your present employer will be able to operate a tax code for you on a 'Week 1' basis.  Once they have sent off your P46 information to the Inland Revenue you and your employer may

receive a correct Tax Code for you which may be on an accumulative basis and enable them to give you a refund via your wages if it is due to you.

  3. Get one of these and hand it to your boss or HR department

  4. You may not be due a refund. An emergency code number deducts the correct amount of tax, but each payday is treated in isolation, not on a cumulative basis. The only time you may be due a refund, is if you had no earnings from 6th April, and started your job later than that. Then there may be a backlog of tax allowance.

I think you have to contact tax office, and ask if there is any information needed from you. When tax office records complete, a cumulative code number can be issued.

  5. You need to phone the government tax office you company uses. Tell them you circumstance's and they will issue a new tax code for you. At the end of the year any overpayment can be claimed back from the inland revenue.

    Ja.

  6. There is no such thing as emergency tax - your tax code reflects your circumstances, so if you have 2 jobs for example, one of them will be taxed at basic rate (which some people mistakenly call 'emergency')

Without us even knowing your tax code or status this quaestion is barely answerable, so you are best off calling your tax office - your employer can give you the details you need.
