Day 1 came to a close with the Indian Emerging Players wrapping up the session at 27 for 2, from 6.4 overs. 1, 2011, and is part of the ongoing Emerging Players Tournament.

The game came alive through some slow runs from the openers, however, in just early overs of the match, trouble came South Africa’s way after the team went on losing two crucial wickets in the successive 5th and 6th overs.
Hendricks came as the opening loss for the batting side, after marking his return at a disappointing single for the team. The player’s dismissal came after producing an unwanted snick off Kumar’s delivery, leading the ball into the hands of the keeper.
